AINSLEY CROSSBODY BAG (new pattern + video)
Hello everyone!
I’m happy to introduce my brand new sewing pattern, Ainsley Crossbody Bag, to you today.
A bag like this has been on my mind for a long time. I wanted to design a small-ish bag, something just big enough for one’s phone, a wallet, and a few necessities that could be used as a day-to-day bag or as a travel companion. I think this cutie fits the bill.
Finished size: LARGE - 9’’ wide x 6 1/4’’ tall, SMALL - 7’’ wide x 4 1/2’’ tall
The pattern comes in two sizes and an additional option of turning both sizes into a Wristlet.
Both sizes feature a main zipper closure, an exterior zipper pocket on the front of the bag, a slip pocket on the back, an inner zipper pocket, and an adjustable crossbody strap (or wrist strap).
I used designer quilting cotton from my stash to make these cuties and I just love the different feel of each bag depending on what print is used. I must say, I find the cute yellow farm print in the first photo beyond adorable. I’m sure many of us know at least one little girl who’d love to keep her treasures in a bag like that.
I used my favorite #5 Nylon Zippers by the Yard to make these bags and I’m beyond smitten. Can you tell I’m a big fan of striped zippers? So, so fun!
