scrappy armrest pincushion
I managed to tackle the first project off my small projects sew along list and it feels soooo good.
I followed a wonderfully written tutorial by Amy at During Quiet Time. I was able to use some of my scraps for the log cabin pockets (always a good thing since my scrap basket is constantly overflowing).
The adorable owl fabric is called Spotted Owl by Alexander Henry and the long base for the whole pincushion and pockets is Essex Linen in natural.
Now I'm ready for some serious hand stitching while watching TV. Not bad, if I say so myself.

I also realized that I can use it by my sewing machine, too. See?
And, speaking of my sewing machine, I did get a new Juki about two weeks ago. Yay!!!! It was time and she is just amazing. Strong, fast, a real workhorse, yet way quieter than my previous machine was. She now lives in my "happy corner" which has become so much happier since she has arrived.
Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend, friends. Svetlana
