OLEANDER POUCH (new pattern + video)

Hello friends,

I have a new pattern to share with you today and I can’t wait to see what you think.

This is Oleander Pouch. A large-ish zipper pouch featuring an exterior zipper pocket and a set of interior elasticized pockets, plus a slip pocket.

Finished size of the pouch is 8.75’’ wide on bottom x 6.75’’ tall x 3.5’’ deep, perfect to be used as a toiletry bag or a project pouch.

I love how nice and wide the main zipper opens. Plus the top binding, of course. It’s like a beautiful icing on a cupcake :).

I used my favorite #5 nylon zipper by the foot to make my pouches and I couldn’t be happier with the final look. I get my zippers from Zipper Zoo (EU shop) or Sullivans Trim (US shop). Check them out if you’re on a lookout for some cool zippers, you won’t be disappointed.

And, because I know many of you enjoy visual instructions, I recorded a video tutorial on how to sew this pouch. You can watch this video by clicking HERE.

What do you say? Would you like to make an Oleander Pouch of your own?

To make this pouch you will need:

FABRIC A (exterior) - 1/4 yard

FABRIC B (lining) - 1/2 yard

FABRIC C (zipper binding + bottom panel) - 1/8 yard

FUSIBLE FLEECE (Pellon TP971 or Vlieseline H640) - 1/4 yard

INTERFACING (Pellon SF101 or Vlieseline G700) - 1 yard

#5 ZIPPER BY THE FOOT/YARD - (1) 23'' long zipper + 2 zipper pulls

Check out my blog post on my favorite fabric and zipper shops HERE if you’d like to know where I get my supplies from.
