PATCHWORK TOTE (video tutorial + free pattern)

Hi friends,

I’m excited to bring my newest (and free) sewing pattern to you today :). I love this simple, but super stylish little tote.

Finished size of the bag is 9’’ wide x 11’’ tall x 4’’ deep.

I used corduroy I received from Sullivans Trim to make the exterior of my bag and I’m totally smitten with this classic, bold patchwork. You could, however, use canvas or quilting cotton for the exterior as well.

To make this tote, you will need (9) - 5’’ squares of lighter fabric, and (9) - 5’’ squares of darker fabric. See how the panels are arranged to give the finished bag a seamless look?

You will also need (2) - 14’’ squares of canvas or Essex Linen for the lining, (2) - 14’’ squares of fusible fleece, and (2) - 12’’ long strips of 3/4’’ - 1’’ wide webbing. That’s it, easy peasy.

What do you say? Would you like to make a Patchwork Tote of your own? Then watch this video for detailed cutting measurements and step-by-step instructions.

Happy sewing, everyone!

Svetlana
